Boda...Mariana y Jorge

Moría de ganas de compartirles esta boda... hace unos meses fui a una de las bodas más originales y llena de detalles. Primeramente, han sido la pareja de novios más relajados que he visto en mucho tiempo, definitivamente marcaron el tono de su boda con esa sonrisa de oreja a oreja que tuvieron los dos de principio a fin. Los amé por eso... 
I was dying to share this wedding with you... a few months ago I went to one of the most original and full of details weddings. First of all, this has been the most relaxed wedding couple I have seen in a long time, they definitely set the tone for their wedding with those huge smiles they had from beginning to end. I loved them for that.
 

La boda fue en  la Ciudad de México. La iglesia y la casa de la recepción estaban a solo unas cuadras, así que tenían bici-taxis afuera de la iglesia listos para que todos los invitados y tambíen los novios nos fuéramos de ahí a la recepción... ¡GENIAL y súper divertido! 
The wedding was in Mexico City. The church and the reception venue were only a few blocks away from each other, so they had pedicabs ready for us and for them also, so we could ride to the reception in them... GENIUS and super fun!

Esas cajas de madera pintadas de plateado con arreglos florales adentro, me FASCINARON, estaban por toda la boda, a la entrada, en la mesa de novios, enfrente de la mesa del DJ, eran unas mini obras de arte... 

I LOVED those silver painted crates with floral arrangements inside, they were all over the place, at the entrance, at the table of honor, in front of the DJ console, they were like mini art installations...

Tiene 7 diferentes diseños y el proceso es súper sencillo: Imprime el diseño sobre papel blanco, recorta las etiquetas usando las guías y envuelve y pega con cinta adhesiva de doble cara. ¡Listo! Hazlo tú...vasitos de manzana

Ya es octubre... el verano no solo se ha terminado, sino ya se siente venir la ola de festividades de otoño y de invierno. Esta época me hace sentirme FELIZ... lista para disfrutar del chocolatito caliente, los ponches, y todo lo que les acompaña. ¡Qué mejor que comenzar con este tutorial para hacer vasitos de manzanas! Hermosos, ¿no creen? Solo corta la parte de arriba de una manzana y con un cuchillo {y con mucho cuidado} recorta poco a poco un círculo en la parte de adentro de la manzana. Después, con una cuchara retira toda la pulpa y todas las semillas. Ten cuidado de no acercarte mucho a la orilla para que las paredes del "vasito" no queden muy delgadas. Ahora rellena la manzana con ponche de frutas calientito y agrega canela entera... mmm... 

It's October... summer is not only gone, but you can already feel the wave of the fall and winter holidays arriving. This time of year just makes me HAPPY and ready to enjoy cups of hot chocolate and apple cider, and everything that comes along with them. What better way to start than with this DIY project showing you how to make these adorable apple cups! BEAUTIFUL, right? Just cut the top part of an apple and slowly and carefully carve around the inside of the apple with a sharp knife. Then use a spoon to core the apple, make sure to get all the seeds and don't get too close to the skin so the apple wont be too thin to hold whatever you put inside. Now fill the apple cup with cider and add a cinnamon stick... mmm...  

*Nota: Agrega jugo de limón para que no se oxide la manzana por dentro

*Edit: Add lemon juice to prevent the apple from browning.

Receta...Terrones de azúcar

Llevo mucho tiempo esperando ver esta receta, y por fin la encontré en Styled Magazine. Es para hacer terrones de azúcar de diferentes figuras. Aquí muestran una con forma de corazón... 

I have been waiting a long time to see this recipe and I finally found it in Styled Magazine. It shows you how to make sugar cubes in different shapes. Here they made heart shaped ones... Find the recipe in English {here}.

Receta Terrones de Azúcar:

Mezcla 2 tazas de azúcar con 3 cucharaditas de agua hasta formar una consistencia arenosa. Rellena moldes de silicón de las figuras de tu elección con la mezcla, asegúrate de que el azúcar quede compacta. Inmediatamente voltea y presiona el molde para sacar las figuras de azúcar (el azúcar aún estará húmedo) y deja secar por lo menos 12 horas, hasta que endurezca.

¡Qué linda idea! Bigotes de papel para popotes, quedarían perfecto para una fiesta con tema de señorcito... Son súper sencillos de hacer. Gracias a las chicas de Paper+Cup pueden ver las instrucciones y descargar el archivo aquí. No olviden usar popotes que se doblen de arriba, será mucho más sencillo. Encuentren proyectos como éste y muchos más en el libro Paper+Craft.

Lavanda y Encaje con toques de limón amarillo...

Recientemente me contactó una novia próxima a casarse para pedirme un mosaico de ideas para su boda. Me envió una fotografía de un arreglo floral que le había gustado y de ahí partí para formar éste mosaico. La boda tomaba lugar en un el verano, en un jardín y buscaba detalles DIY. 

A future bride contacted me recently asking for an inspiration board for her wedding. She sent me a picture of a floral arrangement that she liked and I took over from there. The wedding would take place in the summer, in a garden and she was looking for DIY details.  

Tema: Lavanda y encaje con toques de limón amarillo. Usar encaje beige y en tonos pasteles muy claros. Colgar, forrar, cubrir y envolver el encaje en lo más que se pueda (mesas, manteles, centros de mesa, velas, árboles, servilletas, etc.) Usar ramas de lavanda y limones amarillos como toques especiales en toda la decoración (mesa de postres, centro de mesa, recuerditos, ramos de novia, etc.). Incorporar fruta, flores y otros elementos de los mismos colores (amarillo y morado claro).

Theme: Lavender and lace with touches of lemon. Use very light colored lace (mostly beige and some very pale pastel colors). Hang, wrap, cover, tie the lace to as many things as possible (tables, table covers, centerpieces, candles, trees, napkins, etc.). Incorporate touches of lavender and lemons to the entire decoration (sweets table, check-in table, centerpieces, wedding favors, bridal bouquet, etc.). Incorporate fruit, flower and other elements using them within the same color scheme (yellow and light purple).

Mi muy querida amiga de Stella Rose Blog recientemente organizó un baby shower, fue de petite comité y me pidió que le ayudara. Lo primero que hice fue enseñarle ésta foto y decidimos decorar lo más que se pudiera con telas fringe... me encantó como quedó todo. Ella misma tomó las fotos... ¡Disfruten!

My good friend  from Stella Rose Blog recently hosted a baby shower, en petit comité and asked me to help. I immediately showed her this image and we decided to fringe as much fabric as possible... I just absolutely love the way it turned out. She took all the pictures herself... enjoy!

Excelente idea para etiquetar la comida en tus fiestas... Encaja banderitas hechas con palitos para paleta en gomitas de colores; lindo ¿verdad?
Excellent idea for labeling party food... Insert flags made with lollipop sticks into gumdrops; cute right?

...y para que tus invitados no pierdan de vista su vaso, prepárate de antemano. Haz una pequeña perforación en la orilla de cada vaso y amarra una pequeña etiqueta con doble hilo {twine}, y así cada quíen podrá escribir su nombre.
...and so your guests wont loose sight of their drink, prepare ahead of time. Punch a tiny  hole right at the edge of each cup and tie a small label with twine, then each guest can write their name.
